Vancouver 2015

My family and I don't get to spend a lot of time together since we are scattered across Canada. This year, I decided to coincide my vacation with my sister's, so our family could spend some time together.

My girlfriend bought me a voucher for bungee jumping in Whistler, which I have been wanting to do for the past few years. Once I was on the bridge, I jumped without hesitation. Accelerating during my descent was exhilarating, and just as I was starting to feel any sense of fear, the elasticity of bungee cord flung me back up in the air.

On the way back, I stopped by the picturesque Brandywine falls, which had been overlooked in my previous trips to Whistler in favour of Shannon Falls.

On our way back from Whistler, we stopped at Porteau Cove, which is one of our favourite spots to stop by on Sea-to-Sky Highway. Despite increase popularity over the years and subsequent difficulty in finding parking, there is a sense of serenity that can be found there.

Being able to get away from city life so easily that is unique to Vancouver that I have not been able to find in Toronto. I sometimes wonder whether the success of indoor activities in Toronto (board game cafes, escape rooms, archery tags, bubble soccer, etc.), albeit fun, can be attributed to lack of getaways within a short driving distance.
